Timaru Sewing Centre: Timaru Sewing Centre has recently relocated to larger, more open plan premises at 158 Stafford Street or better known as the old BNZ building on the corner of George and Stafford Streets. After 12 years of being at 173 Stafford Street and gradually building up the stock it was time to take the next step.
This allows for much easier access into and around the shop, in particular for those customers with prams or mobility scooters.
The old ‘safe room’ of the bank has been converted to house a sewing classroom so no longer do class attendees need to navigate a steep flight of stairs to reach the classroom!
A much larger area has been set aside for knitting yarns and 2017 is proving to be ‘huge’ for knitting and crochet. Another area of focus on creating more space is in the dress fabric area with an emphasis of laying out our already broad range of fabrics over a much larger area so they can be easily seen and moved around.
There will also be five reserved carparks at the back of the shop so you can park your car and then walk around to our front entrance.
Come in and be ‘inspired to create’, there will be lots of new and interesting items on display. Whether you are a knitter, crafter, patchworker or dressmaker Timaru Sewing Centre’s great team of staff aim to help you get the most enjoyment from your project.
