Pareora is a freezing works settlement 10 kilometres south of Timaru. It is located close to State Highway 1, which bypasses the western edge of the town, and close to the Pacific Ocean coast, five kilometres north of Saint Andrews.
Here you will find Xpresso Souvlaki, a greek cafe run by Wally and Barbara Bowen.
The family moved to Pareora from Sydney, Australia. People coming from Timaru, Dunedin and Christchurch are often stopping off.
Souvlakis are made with hot pita bread, lamb, chicken or falafel and with salad and sauces.
Xpresso Souvlakis also offer takeaways such as fish and chips and burgers, all day breakfast. All the food is freshly cooked on the premises.
